SFC Aaron Dudney 723510 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Think about it, many veterans leave the service with many different skills and foundations. Sometimes not exactly on target with the Job market but they do come with a solid foundation and are ready to learn and adapt, what is so different than a college student, they are not always and very rarely an exact fit. Their life experience is only through a book or what a professor has taught them. And the Veteran, we know the answer to that. What if the Feds offered employers an incentive to start an internship program for Veterans, 6 months, try it before the employer buys it so to speak. Everyone wins, the employers sees the many potential veterans that they normally wouldn’t take the chance on and the Veteran would win because they would get some exposure and experience within the civilian sector. Perhaps be offered a career. Does the Civilian Sector offer an internship for transitioning Veterans, as they do for College students? 2015-06-04T17:27:27-04:00 SFC Aaron Dudney 723510 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Think about it, many veterans leave the service with many different skills and foundations. They are typically 3 days a week or so, but your commander has to sign off on it. Mine would not, under any circumstance. Which leads me to believe that all SM going through a MEB, should be assigned to a WTU. In fact, you might want to credit the Military ROTC of its history, of if you were privileged to be a Private E1 in service...The Ultimate Internship Protocol around! So Internships 2.0 as a transitional , piece of cake. It allows payment of all or part of the Housing Stipend (depending on circumstances and length of program) while in an approved apprenticeship program. This allows the company to pay what they normally would during training, which is usually less, and the veteran doesn't have to suffer because they are earning less during the apprenticeship.<br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/onthejob_apprenticeship.asp">http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/onthejob_apprenticeship.asp</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/059/173/qrc/1457036088325?1461707529"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://aurora4vets.org/">Save the Date!</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">June 7, 2016</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by SFC Andrew Miller made Apr 26 at 2016 5:52 PM 2016-04-26T17:52:10-04:00 2016-04-26T17:52:10-04:00 MSgt Private RallyPoint Member 1516413 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have never heard of any company that would do this.
