Does the "deploy or get out" implementations regarding permanent profiles with a PULHES code of 112111 mean separation for those soldiers? 2018-08-08T15:01:24-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3863298

It’s my understanding that a pulhes code listed with only one 2 is still deployable however will soldiers who fall under permanent profiles but remain deployable still be looked at for separation? A 2 means you are still deployable. So as long as you are not non-deployable for 12 consecutive months you are fine.

So no people with a P2 are not going to be separated. If you are still capable of deploying you will he retained and either medically reclassed or retained in your MOS. If you are incapable of deploying you will be med boarded.
It's not a new program and it follows the previous policies. It's just that now there is more emphasis for commanders to follow through with med boards of Soldiers instead of leaving a soldier to string together temporary profiles for a year or longer. If a profile such as P2 precludes a Soldier from deployment or to do his/her job effectively, the Commander could request that the Soldier be reclassify into a different MOS that will allow the Soldier to deploy or in some cases request separation of the Soldier due to readiness. It all comes down to what brings the code under one, and is it compatible with service. For example, chronic lower back pain can cause a L-2, however, you can still deploy with it. If you are on any kind of continual medication (i.e. blood pressure meds) you are a P-2, but you can still deploy. Even bigger ones can be waived if the gaining SGH (medical director) says they have the capability to care for the concern.
