Does the negative approval rate of a President have a negative impact of soldier morale?

I would say slightly. I think it's more of the "executive decisions" he makes that make us question his strength as commander in chief. We are more like puppets.

Our responsibilities should have no bearing on anyone's like ability. People won't like "you" simply because you wear the Uniform. That shouldn't ever effect the accomplishment of your mission....stay focused!

I don't think the negative approval rating impacts morale. What does impact morale is the actions that the President does. I came into the Army during Ronald Reagan. People don't often realize that Jimmy Carter actually started to increase defense spending. But it was not until Reagan became President that being in the military was again something of which to be proud. That raised morale from the ashes of Vietnam, the hollow 70's Army, and Desert One. When leadership creates uncertainty like is happening now, morale will go down. I think a lot of what has caused the negative approval rating is also what is causing lower morale.

If I understand the question, your asking if politics should effects moral! The answer is very simple, leadership effects moral and how you display it in front of those above and below you! Take care of a soldiers pay and bonuses, give them leave when possible, be consistent and fair in your guidance, and moral will climb. Lead, follow or get out of the way!!!

I think its his actions with the military. He does not fight for us, nor is he a war president that inspires us.

Simply, no, not really. Yet in November 7th, 2012 there was a somber mood in all of Ft. Dix, not 100% of the personnel, but most were quiet and somber.
