This is link to the article, some of you may have seen this on the news already. I personally don't find it offensive, she seems earnest in her pride as an American.

It's no more offensive than anyone wearing an American flag hat, shirt, karate pants, etc... She's a proud American, who happens to be of Muslim faith. Good for her.

No it does not offend me. Maybe she can start a movement within her community. As far as I'm concerned, as long as it is done without disrespect there's no problem. I was confused by the stand alone bikini picture when you mentioned Hijab.
