Unfortunately I haven't been able to buy much ammo lately, so I've mostly been getting by on what I get through the Guard. I'm one of those warped guys who loves range day. It's almost just as good to me to get to watch others shoot as it is to shoot; especially if I can coach and mentor the shooters. There is no pressure to perform there. When I go to the range for duty reasons, it is stressful because I am usually a Range Safety NCO, so I am watching firers for (un)safe actions, and assisting those with difficulties to get on target. If I am shooting, it is stressful because my ACH keeps slipping down my head, decreasing my view of the target, and that makes me mad. The issue of having to score well also puts added stress on the entire situation. In between shots, I notice the rest of the individuals shooting are awaiting on me to finish and somehow, I just turn them off and smile. I have been know for taking my time and the reason I take my time is to make sure each shot I take is precise. <br />Each shot is an immediate release of stress and emotions. If I were able to fire a weapon everyday, I would not find the need to smoke cigarettes. When I am at the firing range, on and off duty with the Military, I do not find the urge to do anything but make each shot could and be precise. <br /><br />When I am at the firing range, yes, it is an immediate release of stress. From day-to-day activities, going to the gym for a great hour or more session of running and free weights prior to going to work, that is my secondary release.
