Does TIS from the army reserves transfer over to TIS for active duty as far as for promotions?

I spent 2 years and 9 months in the reserves but switched to active duty last august but my retention NCO just told I would get 6 months for my BCT and AIT but nothing for the 2 years and 9 months in the reserves is this true?I know my TIG restarted when I signed my active contract

Your time in service in the Reserves transfers over for pay purposes. That's it. Everything else gets recalculated and adjusted. To put it another way, if you plan on retiring from the Army on Active Duty, you will need to complete 20 full years on Active Duty for that retirement. The 2 yrs, 9 mo you did in the Reserves does not count for Active Duty retirement.

Welcome to the Regular Army. Since you are asking about promotions it's time for you to learn where to find answers.

The answer to your question is in the promotion regulation, AR 600-8-19. Somewhere in the glossary it says that TIS is based off of BASD for Active Duty Soldiers. Your BASD will be adjusted for any days spent on Active Duty in the reserves. That is AIT, BCT, AT, ADOS, or any other time you were paid a single day for active duty.

Your assumption about your TIG is incorrect, but I have given you the reference on where to find that answer. If your S1 says that they can't backdate your TIG because eMilpo won't let them, then your DIEMS date is incorrect and needs to be corrected in emilpo
