My MOS of Field Radio Operator did not help in my civilian career. The discipline and leadership principles that I learned paid lifetime dividends.

Unfortunately, there is not a great need in the civilian world for timely and accurate fire support (bit of sarcasm obviously); however, the work ethic, focus, and overall soldier mentality have helped me greatly in my civilian life.

Yes I believe it does. Most employers do not understand what we do, but it you write your resume properly, employers can see the value in hiring Veterans.

Unfortuately, when I worked it didn't. I had managerial experience, but since I didnt have experience in the trades I worked in it was irrevilent. I was a just another snuffy in my post retirement jobs. However I was a snuffy that called a spade a spade. I knew just how to keep my bosses in line when dealing with me personally. I had a reputation for turning unwarranted ass-chewings into events my supervisors regreted.
