The state&#39;s ID card/DL does not meet the features for federal identification, hence why they charge more for the super-duper one - they have to add features to make it federal compliant.<br />Airports have to follow FAA rules, not state ones so they need to see federal-compliant identification.<br />I believe Missouri had the issue as well. The female, if single, needs to bring in the same. As for a married female, they need to bring in addition to the already mentioned their marriage license. If they have been divorced, they need to bring in everything listed AND their divorce decree. Ironically, one of the reasons was its benefit for active duty military. One of the requirements to meet the standards for the REAL ID is that all IDs must have an expiration date. At the time I received my previous ID from Washington state, the expiration date just said &quot;MILITARY&quot; and it was good till I was no longer active duty. I kept that ID 12 years and only recently got a new one to update my address after moving back. It&#39;s a process, you need several documents to prove who you are, where you live, where you were born, proof of residences (time in state).
