Doing more with less https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/doing-more-with-less

I know the Air Force isn't the only branch squeezing what they can together when it comes to a budget. While I do understand the AF has been looked at as the pampered child of the military branches, what is your input on "Doing more with less"? We've been told over the years, that we just arent getting the funds that we used to recieve and budgets are getting smaller. So therefore we have to lose some things here and there to accomdate that. I know rises and falls in money happen all the time throughout the history of the military. Although what is your opinion on the military spending getting lower and lower? Do you think its nessecary? Smart? Regarding the military though, it's important for all of us to be good stewards with the taxpayers money. I spent 23 years as a logistician and was very frugal with the money I had to spend on equipment and supplies.

One good thing to remember as well as teach the junior enlisted is to conserve utilities like electricity and water. Many people don't realize how much money is spent on the utilities of a base. Any guesses as to how much of a base's budget goes towards utilities? Generally, it's over 50%. THAT'S a lot of wasted money that could go towards pay or recreational things. SSG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 15 Oct 2014 00:17:30 -0400 2014-10-15T00:17:30-04:00 2014-08-15T10:03:26-04:00
