I was poking around on my Facebook account and came across this Army Times article;

In the wake of last week’s shooting on Fort Hood many soldiers and some lawmakers are calling on the military to reconsider allowing troops to carry concealed weapons on post.

I was stationed at Fort Hood when the first shooting tradegy happened. If this solution is actually put in place, I would fear the safety of my family and self on every military installation. I don't believe this would actually prevent people from harming others, nor do I believe this would have prevented either of the attacks at Fort Hood.

I have a Concealed Weapon Permit and I also live off-post. When I am out and about doing errands I have my pistol with me and my CWP. Now, if I wanted to head on-post I would have to turn back around, head home and put my pistol up. The reason for that is, if you are not going to the POW range on-post, or heading to your on-post residence you may not have a weapon in your vehicle. You also must have it registered with Provost Marshall, which I have done (since I like to hunt). I have taken concealed weapons classes and defensive pistol course as well. I think if we have the training and keep up with it, we should be able to carry on a military installation. Just wondering what your thoughts are? <br>
