I said at the beginning that eventually Donald Trump would say something that would take him out of the running. I thought it would be one thing, but now it looks like it is going to be a number of small things. Here is his latest

Once upon a time the Boy Scouts was a paramilitary organization. Its founder created Boy Scouting in response to commanding conscripts who had been raised in cities and towns across England and had little or no "outdoor" experience. Boy Scouts paraded, dressed in uniforms, and observed military customs and courtesies for very good reason. I was a Boy Scout in those halcyon days and had a significant head start on other recruits when I entered the military service. Military schools in those days were, if anything, even more regimented than the Boy Scouts. Now, if Trump attended such a military school, I can see how he could legitimately claim at least a nodding acquaintance with military life. That being said, it is beyond a stretch for him to claim that he "served in the military" but, to be honest, I haven't heard him doing that. Have you?

Obama never served in the military. Neither did Hillary or any other Democrat running. Hillary protested during Vietnam and her husband was definitely a draft dodger. Trump was in college and was therefore not drafted. Thus, he did not dodge the draft. In order to be drafted, you had to be on the draft roll.

I particularly think it does not matter; concerning these two discussion questions. What matters to me is that Trump is with us. SPC Reynolds, why are you worrying about a statement like this? we need to be concerned about the direction of our Country.

Do you want another Obama? Or, do you want someone who believes in our training. Trump says some things that people have trouble with, but I support him. Us Service personnel, past and present needs to support a person who looks out for us. Not one of these establishment politicians stated that they are for us.

So, where are you?

We could nit pick every candidate for saying dumb things. He has a very high regard for our military in my opinion. BTW, he NEVER uses prepared speeches or teleprompters - he speaks from memory. I don't know of any other candidate that can do this.

Don't get your panties in a wad. Trump never claimed to be military, and if you listen to his speeches, and look at his actions, he is very much for our police, border patrol, and military. He says he "always FELT that he was in the military" because he attended a military school. I guess in the same way that if you went to the Citadel or were in the Corps at Texas A&M, you might feel like you were in the military. That said, I'm not a fan of Trump's mouth, but I think it would be easier teaching him how to shut his mouth, than say, teaching John Kerry and President Obama the finer art of negotiating. Catch my drift?

I went through NROTC at the Univ of Texas at Austin. It amazed me how quickly the Midshipmen picked up on military subjects. The guys coming out of NROTC can drill and some are just as good at calling cadence as some of you enlisted. Some of you sailors can't walk and chew gum, and I've seen Midshipmen that could call like Marines. Once had a midshipmen bust me on inspection because a couple chest hairs were visible above my T-Shirt. I thought it was a bit over the top and was pretty pissed off as I had never been busted for that on any inspection before (let alone by some battalion midshipmen!). I knew I had shaved down to the bottom of my neck but when I checked in the mirror after inspection, there were a couple chest hairs in that space between the T-shirt collar and my neck. This college educated pinhead was a bit extreme but he got me fair and square. So I made sure to shave my neck and down below an inch or two to make him happy and never got busted for it again.

Let's not puff ourselves up and assume that nobody knows what we go through. They don't know exactly what combat is like, but then again, many of those who served during the Cold War never experienced combat. Are you going to say that they aren't really military? Many currently serving don't know what it's like to be in combat either. Being deployed to a combat theater is not the same as being on point looking across your front sight post at the enemy. So before we get all wrapped around the axle, take a moment and ask yourself, did he do like Tom Cruise and say his job is harder than the military's in Afghanistan? I'd be willing to bet you that Trump is a punctual guy and runs his staff like a General. He comes prepared to his meetings. And he holds people accountable.

Is Hillary accountable? Is she even competent? Other than being a woman who thinks the rules don't apply to her and who failed to keep classified material secure and got our Ambassador killed, what makes you think she's better than Trump? Are Cruz and Rubio even eligible? Will they be tough on Immigration or will they sell out to the highest bidder. These are also things you should be considering... There's a reason Trump is popular with the people. If the politicians had been doing their jobs, Trump wouldn't be popular; he wouldn't even be in the running!

As much as it irritates me to hear something like that at the same time we hear stuff like that from both sides of the aisle. How difficult is it to just be honest with people about what you did as a person instead of what you wish you could have done. There is no reason to try and make your story sound better then it was.

We have all had that friend who tries to equate something to another to make themselves sound better then they are.

A Military Academy or school may be good training for Military service to prepare You a little better but until You either active duty, Guard or Reserve Your NOT in the Military service. There are plenty of life experiences that may help You prepare, that just one.
