I recently completed wlc and drill and ceremony seemed to be the toughest concept for me to grasp as bad and pathetic as that sounds. I never really march. We did touch on it in basic and ait. But being with my current unit the last three years I may have marched a handful of times and it was nothing fancy by any means. I think it instills discipline and looks so much better than a group of soldiers talking and walking out of line. Marching is after all one of the best parts to the over watching population. Uniforms and marching. That's what they recognize first. Just my opinion though. We need to get back to the old days when D&C was a everyday life of the military. If you were not good at it then it was a high likely hood that you will not get promoted. This should be done a lot more.
