EIB or CIB which badge do you choose to wear?

Since the revision of AR 670-1, and the implementation of DA Pam 670-1, it is now at the wearer's discretion as to which badge they wear. Which badge do you wear regularly? I think the EIB holds a bit more weight since less people have it. Opinions?

I have neither... But I would have to assume it would be the CIB. It is by far, the coolest award we have, and when I see it, I am always impressed... and thankful for my brothers who volunteer to go the last 100 yards. Were it not for you, we would have no one to support.

CIB - I almost got killed (several times) in a foreign country.

EIB - I completed a series of skill level one tasks (which is required by my MOS anyway), passed an APFT (which is required by the Army anyway), qualified expert with my rifle (which you should anyway), and walked 12 miles with some stuff in my ruck (which you should do regularly anyway).

Scale tips towards the game trophy versus the practice trophy.

I'm torn on this as well. I'm a medic, so mine is on EFMB vs CMB. On my ACU's I have uniforms that have one or the other sew on, but on the ASU I'm torn on which one to wear for the DA photo. Which one carries more weight for a board member. I'm sure everyone on the board will think differently.

EIB. You can luck your way into a CIB. Especially these days. EIB is worth more points for a reason.

I prefer my CIB, because it not only proves that I knew how to do my job, but actually earned it in combat.

I wear the CIB but have been considering changing to EIB. One you are awarded for being in the wrong place at the right time with the right MOS, the other you earn. im proud of both though. There is something to be said about the crucible of fire.

After reading some of the responses and particularly a certain LT, I believe that it's the preference of the person who earned it. I am partial to the CIB but it's not so much for me as it is for the memory of my fallen buddies. I wear it to remind me of them and that they deserve my best each day. An EIB is a badge for individual skill. I'm a team guy so CIB has more value.

I wear my CIB, I earned it. I understand that the EIB is important, I respect it no less than someone that wears a CIB. But if you have a EIB, but have never earned or been awarded a CIB. Then you have no business wearing something you didn't earn.

EIB was damn hard, but I wear my CIB- Nobody tired to kill me, during EIB training and I didn't have to bring my kids back in a box for an EIB.

I completely agree. When I was in, you just had to spend 24hours in a hostile zone to be eligible for the CIB. I wasn't, so I'm particularly proud of my EIB.
