Training is at 3 places because that’s how the Army runs - different proponents overseeing the courses you will attend. It is likely that you will not have your family with you until you complete training and have your assignment. Definitely not at OSUT or Airborne school. Ask your recruiter.

Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Specialist (37F) | GoArmy.com

Explore becoming a Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Specialist and learn about analyzing intelligence for information and psychological effect.

MAJ Tom Hutton Mon, 24 Sep 2018 05:51:23 -0400 2018-09-24T05:51:23-04:00 Response by CPL Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 24 at 2018 5:52 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/enlisting-37f-as-an-e3-i-know-the-training-is-long-but-why-3-different-places-and-when-should-i-expect-my-family-to-pcs-with-me?n=3989740&urlhash=3989740

I’m not exactly sure what you would do, but for your basic (osut) and airborne school, your family won’t be able to move with you, but once you get to the qualification course, your family should be able to be moved with you. That’s in Ft Bragg right? That is one station unit training, which encompasses both Basic Traijing and AIT. It is held at one post without changing units. For PSYOP’s, bas c training is held at one location, then you have to go to Airborne School (at Fort Benning) and then to your AIT, which is at Fort Bragg. I could have the order of attending Airborne and AIT reversed but the fact of the matter is that you have to attend the training at those locations. You must be in service 24 months before you receive quarters or quarters allowance. Prior to this you have to get your Commanders’ approval to live out of the barracks. During this time you must maintain your barracks space. Look at my Bio, and you should see where I am coming from.
...AS AN E-3; Are you going to be ready to tack over a team at the end of your training? In a short time you will be getting ready for the E-5 Pro Board, will you know and experienced enough to be come a Jr Leader?
... 3 DIFFERENT PLACES; To test and Eval your flexibility. If you can't handle 3 training environments, then how will you be able to go on World Wide Deployment.
... PCS WITH ME. Keep your family where they are at till all your training is finished. If your wife is working, keep er job and saving up for the up coming PCS. Your family has a support group that you know are well being well taken care of. You don't need a training distractor of if your family is settling in to the Fort Bragg / Fayetteville community.
NOW I didn't do this in '91 when I came back to Ft Bragg in May after Desert Storm. We showed up w/o an apartment, church, or know where the good or bad parts of town was. We spent almost my whole pay cheques for three months trying to sort everything out. It was easier to buy a house than to rent one.
Luckily, my wife was an E-6 in the Reserves after 10 years on Active Duty. We had a 2YO and our son was. Trying to make ends meet on an E-4 pay, with a $600 s month house payment was a feat unto itself.

Hope This Helps.
Tim SSG Timothy McCoy Sat, 06 Oct 2018 22:12:16 -0400 2018-10-06T22:12:16-04:00 2018-09-24T05:23:04-04:00
