Lake Como, Lake Garda, Venice (especially during Carnivale), Florence, and etc. are all great places to go. Rothenburg in Germany is a great town to visit. Take a trip on the Brenner Pass throught the Alps; spectacular scenerary. Every year in Wurzburg, they have the Mozart festival at The Residence. There is live music in the garden and you kick back on the grass with your food and wine and enjoy the evening. I'm not into claissical music, but that was great. Berchtesgarden and Garmish are get places to visit in Germany as well. Dang....I do miss Europe. What a beautiful place for a vacation or just a long weekend. I've heard good things about Legoland Deutschland (<a target="_blank" href="http://www.legoland.de/en/">http://www.legoland.de/en/</a>), but I've never been there myself. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/004/907/qrc/senior_llh_angebot_herbst_373x184_082015_en_rot.png?1443026784"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://www.legoland.de/en/">LEGOLAND Amusement Park Germany - LEGOLAND</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">The LEGOLAND amusement park in Germany has lots to offer for families with children looking for adventure – enough for several days of fun and action.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by CW5 Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 11 at 2014 5:54 PM 2014-11-11T17:54:00-05:00 2014-11-11T17:54:00-05:00 MSgt Private RallyPoint Member 323119 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Love the area around Kaiserslautern. My mothers family is mostly from and in Sembach. And my father was also stationed at Sembach AFB. I had the chance to visit the area myself in the late 80's. Funny thing although my mother was German and my father was fluent in Germen us kids never learned. Glad you all are enjoying life in Germany. The AFRC offers reduced rates for the slopes. Also, I would recommend the General Patton hotel. The rates were based on pay grade. Also close to there is Oberramegau which is the place where they put on the passion play. It is truly a beautiful Bavarian village. Then, try to take a trip to Salzburg and Innsbrook, Austria. Both wonderful places.
