Hand salute to GEN Dempsey for his 41 years of service. That's as long as I have been alive, so wow.

Secondly, the GEN can actually carry a tune really well!

I also think this video is refreshing in light of the recent controversy here on RP surrounding the premier military band, in this case the Army's band and the President's Own. At least I think the men in red uniforms were members of the President's Own, I could be wrong.

CPT Private RallyPoint Member - Very unusual, but I think it is pretty cool. The song certainly fit the occasion. GEN Dempsey has been known to sing at several events/ceremonies.

I think anything different to add to the traditions of a retirement is great especially since it is specifically for them.
What is the most unique thing anyone has seen at a retirement?

I saw a Navy Chief walk off stage and proceed down a line of Seamen cutting off his pant legs (to make into shorts) take off his coat and put on a Hawaiian shirt, replaced his hat with a baseball cap and handed him a glass of scotch and a cigar with his recliner waiting at the end. Very cool!
