Every oath in American Government swears to protect/uphold the Constitution. Why does it seem like no one has ever read it?

Part of American Exceptionalism is that we changed the rules in governing; rights come from a higher power, government was established by us to protect those rights and then we listed them. We can vote out leaders rather than stage a revolution and we have rights the government can't take away! Why does it seem that our leaders (Mil, Pol, Civil) have not read this document they swore to defend?

Interestingly enough, MAJ Charles Blake, the same oath taken by commissioned officers of the armed services is also taken by the Vice President, members of the Cabinet, federal judges and all other civil officers and federal employees other than the President. That oath is as follows: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. (So help me God*)."
Of greater interest (at least to me) is the oath of office taken by the U.S. President, which is as follows: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, PRESERVE, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." In the Presidential Oath, the President swears to preserve, as well as protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, which to me, is a notable difference from the oath taken by others.
It seems as though if you're willing to swear an oath to "support and defend" or to "preserve, protect and defend" you might at least have read the U.S. Constitution at some point in time. However, the oaths don't make you swear that you've read it or even have a working knowledge of its contents!
*Now optional, I think.

From my experiences, some don't see it as something meaningful, maybe just what they have to do before they accept a position. I look at it as my duty while holding that position.

Maj John Bell I hope you politely handed that teacher her ass on a platter. It is as if she is deliberately against reading the Constitution when it's her ~job~ to do so. Explaining the document necessitates the students read it for themselves. And ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐to your daughter for standing up for herself and reading aloud the document that sets the parameters of our political and private lives.

Just a personal though, I believe that our rights are given to us by the creator or for our non religious folks by virtue of your birth as a free individual. Often today we are busy with life and forget that old tattered document that gave birth to this nation. MY guess is they are to busy catching poke'mon.

Add the the 14th Amendments premise of "Equal Protection" of the laws
So the same very thing we swear to defend the Constitution and your rights under the laws are interpreted differently when you are in a military enlistment unlike all other federal workers from what I understand.

The legislative branch has always attracted SOME grafters out to "line their pockets". But here we have a president who acts as the "Pocket Liner in Chief", and who, daily, attacks the Constitution he (and we) swore to defend. His daily attacks on the Constitution. His obvious preference for autocracy over democracy, and his corruption MUST be a main concern for those of us who are NOT oath breakers!

amendment. Really after the second amendment is repealed there would be no need to make anymore amendments to repeal anymore because at that point no one would be able to just stop the government from just doing whatever the government wants to do. Just my ridiculous and "impossible" thoughts, I know I went way off topic from the original post but again just my thoughts.
