Executing WIAS to Afghanistan with CRC in APR. Seeking advice on TA-50/equipment to bring to CRC, since they will issue RFI that week.

I recommend bringing everything. Inevitably a CSM will want you to do a ruck march with every possible piece of equipment you own. You don't want to do a light ruck march. The other reindeer will make fun of you. BTW, none of that stuff you get in RFI will be of any use in Afghanistan. We are all just sitting at computers reading RP posts. No one has shot a bullet or hellfire in months.

There is a CRC website that you should review first. Website includes a complete pack list and other important need to know/need to have items. Do not bring everything. You will already be humping enough gear to include re-issues of stuff you already have. You want to carry two of some items? There are prerequisite classes/online training certa you need to have on your possession...or you can do those classes on their systems-recommend completing before you arrive. Good luck.

Bring only what you need to train and be comfortable. If it is cold, bring snivel gear. Bring an ACH. Standard kit will be issued at RFI, and you'll get all you can handle and more.

When I went to CRC like 7 years ago we were issued all our personal gear to include a weapon. Take some spray paint to mark your duffels, some colored ribbons for the handles, and 2 locks. If that soldier is still there yelling at the CRC folks like they were recruits, please kick his ass. Good luck.

I am the Company Commander for deploying contractors there at CRC. If you need to know specifics contact the S3 there and see what you need to bring if the website doesn't answer your questions. Good luck

if I remember correctly...don't bring a damn thing.
1 set of ACUs to wear that week prior to going to CIF.
I would say this, have family members on stand by to mail you stuff.

From prior experience, I suggest you try to get in contact with the S3 and S4, the less you have to bring as well as the less you have to turn in and account for the better the excercise. Not to mention requirements for each mission change so inevitably so does the requirements for each training exercise. Good luck and good fight- Strikehard
