Tran,
The first thing you want to do will be to do some research to see what the new mos requirement are, if you do qualify, then reenlist for it next time. If you don't have the requirements, start taking classes, most of the time a 2 year degree will get you ahead of the pack. Some mos schools are real hard, doing some homework and preparing yourself will be beneficial.
Good Luck MSG Pedro Soto Thu, 16 Jul 2020 12:02:31 -0400 2020-07-16T12:02:31-04:00 Response by 1SG Dennis Hicks made Jul 16 at 2020 12:28 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/explain-the-process-of-how-to-switch-an-mos-i-m-currently-11b-and-want-to-switch-into-68w-and-go-for-a-flight-medic-position?n=6107385&urlhash=6107385

According to your other post you are not in Yet and have not shipped 1SG Dennis Hicks Thu, 16 Jul 2020 12:28:51 -0400 2020-07-16T12:28:51-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 16 at 2020 12:32 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/explain-the-process-of-how-to-switch-an-mos-i-m-currently-11b-and-want-to-switch-into-68w-and-go-for-a-flight-medic-position?n=6107398&urlhash=6107398

Since you are currently (as you stated in a previous post/question) 1 year away from shipping out to Basic Training, you can always talk with your Recruiter to see if you can switch. You would also need to find out if your current unit has open slots for Medic. You will also need to find out if you qualify for Medic. This is all if you want to try and switch prior to Basic Training.

Now, if you are wanting to know AFTER you get MOS qualified for 11B, then you would need to talk with your Command and Retention to see what your options are. You will not be able to go straight into Flight Medic slots. There are requirement you HAVE to meet before being accepted into the Flight Medic program. The first is that you have to have served as a medic for at least a year. Not trying to sound harsh but some will get very upset if you say that to them. On to your question about flight medic, good luck! Most National Guard MEDEVAC units require you to interview for the position and only after you have been a 68w for a year. Remember they are going to invest into about a year + worth of schooling on you and they want to protect their investment. Not at all equivalent to 11B or 11C which are repetition based training programs. 68W is like training to be an EMT you have to take notes and study for tests. A lot of drop outs that try 68W thinking it would be a repetitive type program. It's not, it is sink or swim.
