Volunteers of America can help you bills, rent, eviction and other things and they are pretty quick with assistance. Contact them and see if they offer service in your area. SGT C. Here’s my ideas:

If you were fired or laid off you can collect unemployment Go to state employment office on line and apply as soon as you can
-you are over 62 and I’m guessing your wife may be also. Consider starting social security. Also wife may be eligible for disability if her cancer started while she was working
-You’re over 65 so you’re eligible for Medicare. Maybe wife too
-check your state rules for Medicade
Finally—sorry to say this—if your wife’s condition is truly terminal within the next 6 months you should look into hospice. Excellent program in most areas. Care in your home or sometimes in hospital. Cancer treatment stops and hospice takes over care for your wife and the family
-check with your school system. You may have money in a retirement fund you can access. If you are a teachers union member check with them

Hope it all works out. We’ll pray for you Lt Col Jim Coe Wed, 22 Jul 2020 13:42:13 -0400 2020-07-22T13:42:13-04:00 Response by SPC Ruby Guadian made Nov 16 at 2020 10:54 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/facing-a-housing-crisis-what-resource-are-available-to-me?n=6503470&urlhash=6503470

Prayers for you and your family.
