It is interesting to see ribbons displayed on a camouflage uniform. I am not always in favor of directer confrontation of people who are doing something illegal. However, in the case of obvious attempts to imitate a military service member I think it is almost always appropriate.

I love me some video of calling out stolen valor dipshits, but this is someone's attempted parody of stolen valor. Not real. Without researching it, there are logic holes throughout the video. Why would he know enough about the flag to know that one is worn in battle, but then by his own will wear it on front? Bs. Why was his phone off when handing over to the camera guy? and then the camera guy supposedly talking into the phone as well? Proximity sensor would likely turn the screen on once lifted away even just a little. The tell-tale signs are way too exaggerated in this video to be real. And pretty much every one of them was exaggerated too. And the camera guy is a douche for recording in portrait mode.

I'm glad the evidence indicates this is a parody...and that perhaps no one's THAT bass ackwards. Still, calling someone out on 'Stolen Valor' can be risky...There are the obvious zeros out there, a few crafty folks running nearly credible scams for profit, and a few "surprise" SEALs running around looking like rejects from Burning Man...as I found out once. Some years ago, I took a civilian diving class. During one of the many "side board" conversations, the instructor (slim, late-40's, kinda spacy-looking) said something rather negative about service members. Being still on active duty (and young, dumb and...you know the rest) I took it upon myself to "spot correct" him...he responded by stating he was a former SEAL and didn't give a *&^% what I thought. I figured he was a poser and said as much...well, a while later, the guy was able (and good enough) to provide incontrovertible proof. I responded by offering an apology for questioning his service...but that he was still a (phrase left to the imagination). He offered that that was about the only response that he could respect...and did me the great honor of not making me cash the checks my mouth was writing.

California is full of these people, and the sad thing is they usually call out real veterans as fake to cover themselves. that's why i feel all who served, even if they where put out for medical reasons should get a veterans ID card, without access to services not earned. I have had to defend some who didn't get to complete their service through no fault of their own.

Whatever. If a person wants to wear a uniform incorrectly, whatever. Hollywood does it, with almost every movie. I pity fake soldiers more than I hate them. They probably have some type of shortcoming, whether physical or mental, that prevents them from being fit to serve. So, that's punishment enough, in my opinion.

There's no point in going out of one's way to further humiliate them.
