But we're able to get my mom to take our child. She is about to leave for training to be a parole officer. And we have no other family willing to take her for us. My unit has finished my chapter 8 paperwork after waiting almost 4 months to even start the paperwork knowing that the situation wasn't working and that my mom couldn't care for her long term. I've completed all my requirements. And my packet has been completed and given back for almost 2 weeks now but they still haven't even given me a date to be sent back. Is there anything I can do to push the process? Or any regulations. The only one I've found is about the actual family care plan and since my husband and I didn't have one to begin with we were technically non deployable. Since you have submitted the rest of the paperwork your unit would, should expedite your return. Separation will follow. The fact that you did not have a packet and deployed is not entirely on the unit, it is a dual responsibility. In the end your family is the one who is effected. Good luck.
