I had the privilege to serve OCONUS in EUCOM twice along with a Balkan KFOR and OEF tour. I also got to visit Japan and Korea for RSOI/OFL. Ok, I am a bit of a foodie and MISS (and sometimes even DREAM about) Butter Pretzels, Doner Kabob, Goulash, Jaeger schnitzel. Also, there's the Turish coffee Balkan kraut-- then Yaki Mandu, Kimch, Bebiblibop (sp) with OB and the Soju Bowl. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITES???

Dried baby squid tentacles (shaped like shoestring potatoes) in Japan were the perfect chaser to overcome the bitterness of Japanese beer when I was in high school there.

Beef or pork fried rice from the little restraunt in Okinawa Japan, on white beach naval base.
Haven't had fried rice since 1990, have tried it and nothing compairs to what I had in Okinawa.

Philippines – pancit canton, lumpia, fried rice, kare kare, bagaong, tuoy, chicken/pork adobo, lechon, sinigang, pinakbet, longaniza, pan de sal, leche flan, and tacino.
Thailand – Gai Yang, Pad Thai, and Pad Ga Pow.
Japan – Sushi, Miso soup, tempura, yakisoba, and ramin

Northern Italy or the Greek islands. Didn't always know what I was eating but it was usually very tasty. It's nice when you get detached in some of the small places and live on the local economy.
