Generals Eisenhower, Patton, Colin Powell, Omar Bradley, H. Norman Schwartzkopf, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, William T. Sherman, George Washington, Hannibal, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great.

American: General George S. Patton and Admiral William Halsey. Rest of the world: Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. There was not an ounce of Nazi in this man. He was just a brilliant German general.

I love America more than most things and always will, but I do have to say that Herrmann Goring-head of the Luftwaffe or air force- was one of the best leaders of the past

Despite being an Airman most of my inspiration comes from Army leaders. General Moore and SGM Plumley come to my immediate mind but even your current Sergeant Major of the Army seems like an outstanding leader.

Air Force wise, my current squadron commander has probably been the best I have had so far. General Larry O. Spencer is also on my list, especially knowing that he was prior enlisted and has worked his way all the way up to O-10. Basically anyone who leads rather than dictates is what I would consider to be a favorite.

I only look up to leaders I actually know and two stick in my mind, Lt Col Michael Stickney and TSgt Franco Coscia, a former CC and supervisor. They made me want to be the best I could be.

A true legend and badass. CSM Patrick Tadina. Ranger HOF, never lost a man he lead in Vietnam. He infiltrated VC units gathering intel and disposition. I recommend reading his bio. He was my Bde CSM in 3rd ID in late 80's. Sadly, he passed a few years ago.
