The National Institute of Health is spending $3.2 million to get a monkey to drink alcohol excessively to determine what effect it has long term on their body tissue.

Another pittance of $69,459 dollars was given to the University of Maryland to study whether text messaging college students before they attend pre-football game tailgates will encourage them to drink less and "reduce harmful effects related to alcohol consumption."

This is just a snapshot of our tax dollars being spent as the DOD is forced to layoff military personnel. With all that's going on in the world today with the Islamic State, Russia and China flexing their might, our borders open to any bad guy that wants to use that door, leads me to this question.

If we were to prioritize our expenses, is this really the best way to spend our tax dollars?

I'm just waiting to be contacted for a study on the effects of alcohol on Army Retirees! I'm sure someone, somewhere, is going to get a federal grant for it!
