SFC Private RallyPoint Member 268649

I was the 1SG for my company for approximately 30 days before our current 1SG came in. I understand that since it was under 90 days my duty position will not be rated as a 1SG, but I was under the impression I would still be allowed to annotate a bullet on my NCOER stating my time served as the "acting" 1SG. I am being told otherwise. I have looked in the regulations I can find but I cannot find anything that states the bullet not being allowed.

Can someone please assist with this?

Thanks. Not sure f it was right, but it went through. Have the person telling you that you can't do it show you where he is getting his information. If he can't do so, then go from there. When I was in command I had a SFC as my 1SG when mine got pulled to be the BN CSM. It was less then 90 days so no NCOER but I made sure that a bullet was included about his time as a 1SG. I know tons of people that have the acting 1Sgt bullet, acting section chief, acting NCOIC, etc for X number of days. We view it as important to put in our EPRs because it shows working above or outside of your normal position and having a bigger scope of responsibility. it is REALLY important for those meeting SNCO Selection Boards. I would like to echo these and say you absolutely should have your time annotated as a bullet on your NCOER. Serving as a 1SG entails a ton of responsibility and to handle that as a SFC, even for 30 days, is commendable and you should receive the credit for that. I hope that you pursue this and it gets annotated on your NCOER. Good luck!!!
