Another person waiting on medical for my flight physical. Seems like it should all go through though. Then it's just a matter of sending the packet in. What's the wait time on getting into a class? Also what comes first, Fort Rucker or Fort Sam-Houston?

I am currently here at Ft. Sam Houston doing the Critical Care Paramedic program. I have received my paramedic cert and am currently working on the Critical Care portion. myself and several others have follow on assignment to Ft. Rucker for the first AMEDD Aviation Crew member course. Any questions let me know.

I am well aware. I want to reenlist for it, but I am on assignment to Stewart. I am going to my SGM on Monday to see if he can pull strings at branch.

Having done a few years in the 82nd hurling myself from airplanes, then working at the Ranger Camp in Florida, I have to say, being a flight medic is the most awesome and rewarding job I've had so far. If you're thinking about it, don't, just DO IT!

Got another question for those at the course. I've got a buddy who is heading there in January. He is a Staff Sergeant and single soldier. Are they having all single soldiers stay in the barracks regardless of rank?

I'm leaving June 26th for Fort Benning, supposed to start on July 4th, and then go to Fort Sam Houston for my 68W training I'd really like to do flight medic as well, how long of a school is it on top of the 18 weeks? And what's the qualifications for the school?

After years of putting up with Big Blue and checking in patients as a CCP/FPC IDMT, I tried to go green 3 years ago. Ultimately, 1 too many stripes and too much active duty service time. Had the Army had this 14 years ago, I’d have been all over it. For those of you considering this...DO NOT SIT AROUND...JUMP. “Nicer housing...” “Better based...” forget it. Sense of accomplishment, comaradarie, making an impact are well worth the switch. I’ve been very fortunate to have worked and trained with many Dustoff crews. Second chances dont come along for everyone.
