There are two factors here. First, are the people trying to do the right thing and save a buck or two while doing that. I'm sure the 84 widow was quoted something a lot lower than another insurance agent might have given her. All she wanted to do was the right thing and ensure things were secure when he husband passed away.

The second factor is people's creed. People are looking to make that quick buck regardless of who they might have to step on to do so. Rather than making an honest dollar, they get the quick buck and leave a path of broken promises and hurt people. They run through a community just as fast as a summer tornado in Kansas. These people are why we have such a hard time trusting others and seeking help when needed.

There's a special place for these people. I just hope the right actions are taken to take care of those that were effected by this lady's reckless disregard.

Rodney “Dan” Pratt; phony POW/Vietnam veteran
Jonn Lilyea | April 15, 2015
Rodney “Dan” Pratt was sent to us by Scotty. Pratt get extra points for creativity – he claims that he was in the Hitler Youth at the end of World War II and that he changed his name from Hans Macher when he emigrated here in 1946, then a few years later he claims that he joined the US Army to fight in Korea. He stayed for thirty years, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant in the Army.

I don’t know about his time in Germany, but I know a little about the Army. For example, if there was any truth to his story, he would have earned a CIB each for the Korean War and Vietnam – but his little shadow box says that he earned three CIBs. He has the United Nations Korean War Service Medal and the US Korean War Service Medal, but he’s missing the Republic of Korea War Service Medal, which goes along with the other two. There’s the Vietnam War Service medal and no campaign stars, which is odd because there were always campaigns going on there. All of those service medals should be below the bottom row.

The Department of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency doesn’t list anyone by the name of Pratt or Macher as a Prisoner of War in Vietnam, so his tales of woe fall on deaf ears. But, it should be no surprise that he wasn’t a POW because the National Personnel Records Center says “Who?”

Rodney Pratt FOIA
That’s probably why he doesn’t know the difference between a CIB and a CAB;

He needs a Purple Jump Suit;

Exactly what does this have to do with the OP? It is a completely different topic and has no place in this thread. It should be in its own thread.

You will have to ask SPC Jan Allbright. It's his thread, but it did make the stolen valor list on "This Ain't Hell", because of all the troops she stole from. This was posted a month ago. Why the complaints now? Why can't people just take it at face value and quit being so testicle about it?

I can't begin to say how I feel about this. I spent 14 months selling life insurance and she makes me feel dirty. I assure you I never sold phony policies. I even talked a client out of buying a policy that was not a good one for him.

You didn't try to sell her any insurance and got too close, like a block or so? She ought to make everyone feel dirty.
