For a duel military couple (spouse is AF, I will be joining the Army) with dependents, will I have to live in the barracks or will I get BAH?

My husband will have them, he is stationed out here in Georgia and we already have a house out here so at this moment it makes sense that they stay with him until I finish basic training and AIT. And we do have a family plan in order.

WOW so many answers. 1. Who will have actual custody of the kids? They will be eligible for housing/BAH. 2. The non-custodial parent MIGHT be eligible for geographical bachelor status which in the old days got reduced BAH. I seriously doubt anyone will authorize BAH twice. Be prepared to live in billets if you don't have the kids in tow, also big problems with this split. Must have a family plan, what if 1 is deployed, or both deployed- this could be a real nightmare.

Yes! we talked for a year about me doing a different branch and talked about all the obstacles. Me being stationed anywhere except where he is and just our overall marriage.
