I have a degree in Journalism, commissioned Infantry and branch transferred to the Engineers. The rest of the packet and how you present yourself to the board will be the telling factor. The Army puts more faith in the ASVAB than it does in a BA. The degree doesn't really matter unless you have some sort of medical degree i.e. MD, BSN, PA, Optometry, Dentist and so on. Just work on maxing your PT test, getting your weight down if you are close to max and getting your business suit pressed and looking the military part while wearing it. Get your letters of recommendation on official letter head, and your references straight. Do that and you'll be a shoe in. Your GPA is competitive. There's numerous factors that go into it, and the interview is a big one. The fact that you are on here, reaching out as a civilian shows that you are not casually pursuing this. Thats an indicator of your personality. How you present yourself at that interview is more important than the degree. That just gets you in the door. The scripted questions are out there. Google OCS interview questions.

Good luck!! Other than that it's a total package with heavy emphasis on your interview.

I had a 2.48 GPA. Dont worry too much. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 14 Sep 2019 16:22:36 -0400 2019-09-14T16:22:36-04:00 Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 16 at 2019 5:08 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/for-army-ocs-how-competitive-is-a-liberal-arts-degree-with-a-3-2-gpa?n=5028385&urlhash=5028385

They don’t care.. they just need the numbers.. that degree and gpa would do unless you don’t mess something up on the ocs interview.. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 16 Sep 2019 05:08:15 -0400 2019-09-16T05:08:15-04:00 Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 24 at 2019 11:18 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/for-army-ocs-how-competitive-is-a-liberal-arts-degree-with-a-3-2-gpa?n=5057432&urlhash=5057432

Degree doesn’t matter as long as you have one. Our class had music theory majors all the way to doctorates. Like others have said below, score well on the APFT, get some decent references, and prep for the interview (the interview is one of your main deciders, it’s your chance to explain to the board why they should recommend you for ocs). If this is something you want go for it, there’s nothing to lose. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 24 Sep 2019 23:18:19 -0400 2019-09-24T23:18:19-04:00 2019-09-13T04:31:37-04:00
