Flew in one from Clark AB Philippines to Diego Garcia. Felt kinda odd sitting facing the back of the plane. Prefer the flight attendants on commercial flights much more than the load master. The boxed lunch on the C-5 was about the same quality as commercial airline food.
Best part was we had "mechanical issues" and had to return to Clark AB. It was 4 days before we got another flight out and we were required to stay in a hotel out in Angeles City. A real eye opener for an 18 yr old kid....LOL

I know what you are talking about, as I grew up near Clark.

Well the Stewardesses were rude and aloof, They kept telling me to sit down and buckle up, they were accusing me of taking souvenirs and they were very upset at me hiding puke bag gifts in the web seats :) Worst of all they made me leave the plane before it landed talk about crappy travel choices I had to take my luggage with me.

In Nov ‘79 I flew in some behemoth from NJ to Frankfort via Greenland, Azores, and London. Nose of that thing lifted up. Cargo seats ran parallel to the fuselage. Had Dodge trucks and palletized stuff down the middle. We had sack lunches.
