I was stationed at Camp Howze from 87 to 88. I'm not sure it's even an active base any more; I suspect it's not. At the time it was the home base for 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division.

Two tours, both at Camp Humphreys (Pyong Taek), 19th Aviation Bn, a Chinook outfit.

First tour, (1975-1976), I was SP4 in HHC as Draftsman; second tour, (1978-1979), I was WO1, Huey pilot, flying with the 301st Avn Det (Red Barons) AND the XO of HHC!

Since no mention of Camp Henry or Suwon are on here, I will claim it. Suwon is a ROK air base that is located north of Osan Air base. Really cool for its location, but not US managed. Now it has a subway station next door, which will take you virtually anywhere in the Seoul Metro.
Camp Henry is nice because it's far south in Daegu. A good place for command sponsorship, which is something more and more Soldiers are receiving these days. Daegu has all the good things of Seoul, but less pollution and friendlier locals.

I was the HHC Area III Commander in 1998-99. Primarily Camp Humphreys. Also had Camps Long and Eagle. Have also been to Yongsan, Taegu (Walker), Camp Stanley, Camp Jackson, Camp Casey, Suwon, Osan AB, Camp Carroll, and what ever the joint ASP was near Humphreys.

My first duty station was at Camp Casey in Dongducheon. I liked Korea so much I AIP'd and stayed from October of 2008 to October of 2010. I even took in country leave for 14 days. A lot of people put Korea down but I must say it was the best 2 years of my life. I didnt have a wife or a significant other mind you. I was a 20 year old single guy with a $30,000 bonus so take that as you will! South Korea is an absolutely beautiful country though and I would love to go back as a civilian some day!

In 1974-1975, I was on Camp Casey--Tong du Chon--in the Second Infantry in the Special Security Detachment.
