We all remember "that guy." You know the one who could bring humor to an otherwise bad situation. The guy/gal who helped you keep things in perspective. Maybe it was their coping methods. Or, maybe it was their leadership style. Who do you remember as "that guy?"

I was that guy...I can't remember how many NCO's and Officers who called me "Funny Man." A lot of things sucked...I felt it took the edge off the guys and made us more level headed.

I also am one of those guys. Most of the time it's sarcasm, dark or light, and it's gotten me into trouble but it's also come in handy at cooling down situations, people and others. I'm the idiot that can't shut my trap and can't stop a snarky comment that'll bring a smile (and pushups) feom higher ups. I'm "that guy". And I excel at it.

I'm gonna use SMA Chandler. Yes there are many who will have colorful thoughts of him, but what makes me laugh when I think about him, he was EVERY meme you could imagine. From SMA Chandler's watching you to the tattoo jokes, he took it in stride, and I remember when USAWTFMoments got on him, and he actually answered them back. Even after that he became more of the "Carl" of the Army, but took it in stride until SMA Daily took over. I don't think there will be another SMA who'll be the butt of the jokes and not be butthurt. Hell I haven't seen too many SMA Daily memes other than the few I have, and those don't compare to the mess Chandler left behind.

I would have to say the CTMs Crypto Tech Maintenance that I served with were either the Instigators or the Victims and one my most valued relationships. CTM3 on California "Hey Chip, Smell my Fingers" Oh Hell No! CTM2 Dave "Speed" Chamberlain I shot him with a CO2 Extinguishers full of Chad (Frozen Chad Stuck all over his body) Speed Helped me Xerox My Lower Extremities so we could put it in the bunny tubes to FOSIC Comm and Put a Copy on the routing to be checked file for the Supervisor to see (We Marked it ICWO Intelligence Center Watch Officer, who was a Female Lt That Night) Ha Ha funny guys, You really didn't send that to the ICWO "Yeah We Did" OMG. He really ran fast down to her desk to check her traffic (Of Course we Lied). CTM2 on the Arkansas who was born in Haiti but adopted by wealthy New Yorkers, The Man was a Technical Miracle Worker and when he fixed my TACINTEL UYK-20 that had been down for several days, I bragged on him to the Entire BattleGroup that he used his Magic Chicken Foot on it.

I wouldn't say he was that guy, but I was stationed in Utah at the time, and one morning, while sitting in our break area, a co-worker passed gas. It's funny thinking about it now, but that day we were all disgusted. Our building was basically an old warehouse that we shared with two other sections. This guy cleared the entire building! Even with garage doors open, there were 4 of them, and a nice breeze blowing through. Later tho, we did have a good laugh at it.

we have two people like that. Fittingly so since our sqd is made up of 2 AFSCs. One of our individuals says the most random s@#$ ever. We end up looking around at each other, then at him, then back at each other, and then there is that awkward silence for a moment. Then the subject changes. We stopped trying to figure out what he was saying or meant or how whatever he said would even fit in the conversation. Our other person just pisses me off. He will corner a ground squirrel, catch it, get bit, then wonder why. A few months later, he does it again. He has to have his father call him to wake him up every morning. Is caught walking around like an idiot when the Anthem plays on the loud speaker at 1700. Just soooo many things I could probably write a whole chapter about him. So yes I suppose we ALL have "that guy" (or girl).

I will take the hit on this one, on many missions were we had young soldiers scare to go out the wire, I was notorious for looking up and saying "Its a good day to die." I was told I was "*uncking crazy".

oh lord, there were so many, in my platoon alone there were at least 5, but the ONE?, I unfortunately cannot locate him. :( I feel he must have vanished or something. I have his name and have asked on RP, but NO ONE has helped me locate him. Ah well, he always made us all laugh, even during the worst times, like in the middle of morning formation!
