Ten things I'd tell myself...

1. Join the Navy earlier so that you can go to boot camp (Orlando) in the winter.

2. Learn to type before you go in. That way you don't have to spend more than a week at admin school in lovely 3000 degree Merridian, Mississippi.

3. Don't sweat the load about being top in your classes as the Navy's gonna send you where they want to send you anyway.

4. When you go to take your submarine board, you forgot to ring the battle stations alarm.

5. When you sneak your wife onboard, make sure she has no perfume on. DEAD GIVEAWAY... Also, as your wife is English and you're onboard an American sub, it's probably a good/great idea if she not say anything while onboard too...

6. Having your expensive guitar onboard is not a great idea. Leave it at home.

7. Don't buy that Ford Mustang. Save your money and get the Dodge Omni.

8. You didn't lose that $200. It was stolen from you. Your locker was pried open. Leave it in the bank, dummy.

9. Don't waste time with the college courses as they will be going away after your third patrol. And you won't get credit for them.

10. You would have been command advanced if you'd have been more amenable to the Master Chief.
