Thanks Rally Point for picking up my story. As of right now the military doesn't pick up any of my medical expenses and I'm not asking them too. I also receive no special treatment regarding my gender. I lived with this silently for a long time and my decision to come out recently was a personal one driven by an interest in being proud of myself and being a role model for others like me. I know it will be an adjustment but I'm as good at my job today as I was before I came out. I love the army and I love my country. I just want to be able to serve while being myself. Thanks everyone for the comments and opinions.

My name is Patricia. It says so on my birth certificate, passport, social security card, drivers license and military ID. My drivers license and passport both say female. Bogotry has no place in today's society and I for one will not be insulted. You are a small and small minded person throwing insults. You tear people down. You don't approve of who I am. That's fine. That doesn't mean you have to make it a point to hurt people.

I'm sorry you feel insulted. I truly am. That's not my intentions, but I stand on my beliefs and convictions. I just don't think that legally changing one's name on documents change what God made. Altering body parts doesn't change what God made. In " Today's Society" there's too many people that tends to think so. Also, I didn't start this conversation, you did.

SSG (Patricia). My heart has been heavy!! I never go out of my way to insult, or be rude to anyone. But, I am a person of strong convictions, and won't hesitate to speak my mind.
Lately I've done research on transgerdered, gay, and lesbian people. I read and studied from a spiritual standpoint, as well as the natural, and in my findings I'd like to apologize to you. I've found out that it's possible for Men to be born with feminine energy, and Women born with masculine energy.
Thank you for standing your ground!! There's things that I still don't fully understood, and there's still some things that my mind refuses to change on though. Let's just say that I'm a work in progress when in comes to open-minded in some things.
May God bless you SSG (Patricia)
Happy Holidays!!!!!

OK, so she voluntarily signed up (and most likely reenlisted for) a MOS in the U.S. Army that specifically does not have female soldiers.

I have no issues with how she wants to live her life, but I feel she has an obligation to complete the contract she signed. This is no different than anything else that makes a soldier "unfit for duty". What someone does in their "down time" is their business as long as it doesn't bleed over into their duty.

Someone said it best on a different thread "I always felt like a general on the inside, even though I wasn't on the outside." Guess what... the Army has NEVER cared what you feel on the inside. Do you think the guys that stormed the beach on D-Day were all suicidal and were just looking for a patriotic way to die?

Suck it up. Finish your commitment... then follow your dreams.
