Fort Hood Housing https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/fort-hood-housing

So, I'm looking to get some input from people already stationed on Fort Hood: Does anyone have a lot of trouble with the housing personnel? I'm having a hard time with my PCS because I can't seem to get ANY information from their office when they decide to finally answer. Is there a SGM in charge of housing on Hood that I can get in touch with to lodge complaints, or is it all civilian run?

Any information would be great. Especially since I never received a sponsor, and I don't know where to start looking. Thanks! I can link you up with the right BDE S1 to get the sponsorship straightened out. I used to be in III Corps G1 and I have the name of the Directorate of Human Services (DHR) SGM in my emails somewhere. I'll get back to you soon. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 26 Aug 2014 14:07:46 -0400 2014-08-26T14:07:46-04:00 Response by SSG(P) Auston Terry made Aug 31 at 2014 11:25 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/fort-hood-housing?n=223161&urlhash=223161

Fort Hood Family Housing is not one of the better on post housing contractors I have had contact with. I'm assuming that you have been talking to the FHFH coordinator at the Copeland center, which actually surprises me normally that is the most pleasant part of your interaction with them.

It's definately odd that you don't have a sponsor assuming your losing unit and you initiated the 5434.

I lived in Family Housing for about a year and my experience was generally positive. My home was actually very old and I accepted some of the quirks of living in an older house, but I wasn't particularly fond of the lack of insulation. During the winter the inside of the exterior walls was only about 4 degrees warmer than it was outside. They fix minor issues pretty fast, but major issues tend to go poorly. The lawn service that has been contracted for your non fenced areas is useless; I mow my lawn just as often as when FHFH wasn't paying someone to do it for me. The Community Life office is run by Soldiers; they issue the citations and inspect the villages for safety and appearance. Generally speaking they are ok , but they come off pretty disengaged from the communities. During a water shortage where one village was completely without water while the other villages only had a boil order the CLM took two days to emplace Hippos and Buffalos, and in the meantime made sure everyone knew that loud noise and cut lawns were high priorities. It came off as "higher than getting water and water service restored." That's just my 2 cents; your mileage may vary.
