GE is Most Qualified to Re-Engine the B-52 Fleet

Makes sense to me, as long as nothing in those replacement engines comes from China or anywhere else not in NATO.

Its not as simple as swapping a Chevy engine into a Ford! It also points to why the military aircraft of the future need a more modular design for ease of upgrading systems and longevity.

GE has an interesting, yet uncompelling opinion. Compete within the DoD acquisition framework and may the AF get the best tried & tested engines for our bomber workhorse.

I am going to make a strong assumption the B-52s strike capabilities have increased significantly with smart bombs. Tanks fight tanks, but the B-52 can destroy tanks en masse.
