General Milley Issues Initial Message to the Army

We are off to a fresh start in the Army, a new chapter of our history, with General Milley as the 39th Chief of Staff.

For initial remarks, I think he is really on point with taking a look how the Army fights today, how it will fight tomorrow, and how it will take care of those that do the fighting. I'm sure we'll see more of his thoughts come out over the next few days and weeks. Personally, I'm interested to see his ideas on how the Army can better help Soldiers transition out and how the Army can play a critical role in bridging the gap between military greens to civilians jeans.

New CoS, but same message. In his defense, I don't think anyone short of the previous CoS has had to cut a force as fast yet maintain force readiness to deploy as quickly as we do today. He will have his hands full. I wish him the best, and hope that he can accomplish what he's set out to do in deed not words.

CW5 Private RallyPoint Member, thanks for sharing Chief. I read this yesterday and will initial comments, it all sounds great and reads well, but how will the CSA truly make his mark and make lasting postive changes for the Army? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I had the opportunity to meet and talk with GEN Milley candidly for a couple hours in July. He is an honest broker and hard charger. I hope that he can maintain his intent and vigor despite the climate he must work in.
