Thanks.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Off the top of my head from what we&#39;ve found in our research of my&amp;nbsp;direct ancestors:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Joe Purvis Jr. - Father - US Army 27 Years - Vietnam, Cold War, Desert Storm&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Joe Purvis Sr. - Grandfather - US Army - WWII&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One very interesting one we found was on my mother&#39;s side, several generations back, I had a direct ancestor who fought for the British against Americans in the American Revolution. He was captured and paroled. After the war he returned to England, then immigrated to the USA. My Father was 15 when he joined the Navy during WWII. My Grand Father was MIA for a year and he had malaria, my Grand Mother lit a candle every day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I had Uncles in Vietnam and my Father was in communications and I started in communications. I had Uncles that were in Infantry, and that were Rangers. I did a study on Intergenerational PTSD, and the impact of childhood trauma. I am the only one from my Generation to have served considering the number of cousins that I have it is kinda sad but is well within the number of Americans that have served. Presious Generation My Father served both his Brothers did. 1 Uncle on my Mothers Side. Historically Rufus Dawes in the Civil War and William Dawes in the Revolutionary War.
