German Destroyer "Manning the Rails" for a U.S. Naval Ship after 9-11!

I don't know how you feel about 'Snopes' but I just read a story about a German Destroyer, FGS Lutjens, holding up a banner reading "We Stand By You" while 'manning the rails' to the USS Winston S. Churchill in the wake of the 9-11-01 attacks! It's a very moving letter written by someone aboard that US ships. No matter what history our countries may have had, it's great to know that something so horrible can bring out the best in all of us! Check it out and comment below.

I was recalled back to active duty after 9/11 and was in Germany working out of a base there on 9/11/02 and was amazed to see when I walking to the base gate that the walls around the place was ringed with flowers and letters, food, beer on the 1st anniversary.
