I have sent several invites to people I know either still in or have since gotten out of the military with only a handful accepting my invite.</p> Response by SFC Aaron G. made Dec 22 at 2013 1:38 AM 2013-12-22T01:38:57-05:00 2013-12-22T01:38:57-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 27581 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I only had three people join RP after sending out 50+ invites.<br><br>A couple of theories behind the low acceptance rate:<br>1. Some people may feel that it's a scam.<br>2. Some people may be all "social networked out" so they don't bother.<br><br>What do you all think the cause of the low acceptance rate could be from?<br> Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 26 at 2013 1:59 PM 2013-12-26T13:59:33-05:00 2013-12-26T13:59:33-05:00 LTC Yinon Weiss 27590 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This is commonly seen by the community (or any community actually).<div><br></div><div>Most of us receive invitations to things from friends fairly regularly, but we rarely act (we barely even notice it). When somebody says "hey, you should really check out this restaurant..." -- how quickly do you run over there to make a reservation? Probably not right away. Yet, when we invite somebody else to something, we are surprised when they don't drop everything and do as we ask. </div><div><br></div><div>In reality, I think it takes several invitations to a platform before somebody is finally willing to check it out. So please realize that your invitations DO have an effect, in that even if they don't accept your invitation directly, they make it more likely they will accept it next time from somebody else. Of course, the same positive outcome applies to you, when others invited before you.</div><div><br></div><div>In short... keep inviting and telling your friends. We are building a lot of momentum and RallyPoint and we appreciate your support!</div> Response by LTC Yinon Weiss made Dec 26 at 2013 2:31 PM 2013-12-26T14:31:53-05:00 2013-12-26T14:31:53-05:00 SGT Ben Keen 27592 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I've sent out 100+ invites to join the site.  I had a few come back and sign up.  I think the problem that this site and other start up social media outlets have is getting a good following.  It's hard to do with Facebook, Twitter, G+ and the other big hitters but the one thing that keeps me here is I know that I can reach out and engage with other Veterans/service members that know exactly what it is like to be in my shoes because of the most part we have all been there, done that and gotten the tshirt (or low VA rating and a kick on the forth point of contact).  I think as people here continue to post good, meaningful discussions and the development continues on the back-end more and more service members/Veterans will be open to the idea of joining.   Response by SGT Ben Keen made Dec 26 at 2013 2:41 PM 2013-12-26T14:41:44-05:00 2013-12-26T14:41:44-05:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 27599 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br /><br /><p style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;" class="MsoNormal">I have had very few responses on my invites to rally point<br />but the one person I talked to about it in person signed up, that’s 100% in<br />face to face (admittedly on a sample of 1) </p><p><br /></p> Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 26 at 2013 2:58 PM 2013-12-26T14:58:52-05:00 2013-12-26T14:58:52-05:00 PO2 Pete Haga 27762 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have sent out a lot of Request's.
