Given a Contested / Brokered Republican Convention, who does the Republican leadership pick as the party nominee?

A brokered / contested convention occurs when no nominee achieves the required number of delegates prior to the convention (50% of total delegates). At this point, the Republican party, in essence, gets to choose the nominee through it's own internal processes. Given this (very plausible) series of events, who do you think will be chosen?

What they are going to do is give the Democrats the election. As usual Republicans do not listen to the people who put them in office. Expect major problems at the Rapublican c onvention. The left is going nuts.

We already gave it to HRC by not voting for Rubio. The person that the polls showed beat HRC by the widest margin.

MAJ Bryan Zeski Sir if that does happen (which will probably happen). I see some "closed door" meetings and either a Trump/Cruz deal or if Kasich sticks around he could possibly be in there also. Just read where Rubio just suspended his campaign.

Here's a new "other" - Paul Ryan.
Might not be the best choice, since the Freedom Caucus announced it's going to oppose the House budget.

At the Republican convention, “anybody can be nominated,” Boehner said.
