Given the political environment we're in, do you believe a wall will help reduce illegal immigration and drug importation?

Have you ever been to Bethlehem? For all the significance to Christians, it's controlled by Palestinians. For years, there were suicide bombers based there. Then Israel got serious. A big wall surrounding the city and severe travel restrictions. Everything gets searched going out in particular. Only Palestinian academics, doctors, etc. get travel slips to come and go. The Israelis are very good with the security thing. So what's it like now? No bombings in years. The wall works fine. But walls only work fine if you actually secure them. That's where the freak out will be. Climb the wall in Bethlehem, security is right there and can kill you. Walls do slow things down so other actions can be reasonably taken. However, we'll have more illegal entries than desired because we won't as a culture endorse severe actions. It's like having ROEs that won't allow you to accomplish the mission like 'Nam.

Google- 18 wheeler with illegals. In South Texas we have daily examples of the cause/effect of the Federal Government not enforcing current. We now have a legal system that treats illegals as a special class of citizen immune from our laws. Bonus- we are forced to subsidize this illegal invasion sponsored by our government and both political parties.

Yes, it will help reduce illegal immigration and drug importation. We as a country have every right to control our borders.
