How does it affect my lifestyle? Not one bit. I don't believe that "we" (mankind) are responsible for global warming, aka "climate change."

I make choices to conserve water, energy, and other resources that are impacted or have an impact on climate change. My political decisions are influenced, in part, by environmental concerns but I am not a single issue voter.

It is a forced science that the Government and academia are using to scare people. Propaganda is all it is. I will not change my life style. I will continue to pick up my trash as we all should. I do believe in protecting our environment.

I saw the new "COSMOS" show, and did perhaps gain a different perspective, on the difference between climate, and weather. However-Any kind of a "solution" or actual "change" that might prove to be beneficial, from any "authority" figure, has shown to be no more than another opportunity to minimize everything that made America great.
Now, don't get me wrong. I know that acid rain in the 70's was a real thing, and we, as a society were able to affect change, that reduced the amount of pollutants that caused "acid rain".
Having said that, I have not heard, seen or got a whiff of any real solution to the "supposed" ongoing climate change, that will make any difference, OTHER THAN killing American productivity.
The world is a very big place, and there are many billion other people that produce much waste, besides us here in the states. Do you think China, will take the lead? What about India? How about Pakistan?
Sadly, I feel personally that the objectives of "solving climate change" really are nothing more than politically motivated pot shots, aimed at reducing American quality of life, further decreasing our gross domestic out put, and mostly just putting us back in our place, while they (the rest of the world) ignore all their responsibility in our ongoing quest to create the perfect place, where all are in fact equal, there is no war, and everyone can live as one "Imagine there's no countries

First there was nothing, then God said let there be light. Then, the Heavens and Earth, and then internal combustion, the flat head Ford, Rock music, the mini skirt, cannabis, the 2nd world war, and now ISIS, trying to stuff the genie back in the bottle. Of all the things that I hear about the end of the world, er, uh, climate change, I NEVER hear about any solutions, other than stop producing.
Talk to me about a creative means to that end, and I will be all ears. Until then, not so much.

Does anyone remember the "Hole in the Ozone" frenzy in the 80's? That one really had a huge backing. It was man-made and due to Freon that time....until someone figured out that a) the hole had always been there, and b) one volcanic eruption releases something like 10 times the equivalent of all the man-made Freon in the world. Dupont was the big winner in that one. Coincidentally, their patent on R-12 Freon had run out, and the Freon craze caused the fed to outlaw R-12, with R-134 being the replacement. Any guesses who owned the patent for R-134?

"Global warming" is a catch phrase. I believe we are to be good stewards of our natural resources, but that "all" of the "climate change" is mankind induced....I don't think so.

Something else made up by bleeding heart liberals to promote their agenda. Personally I think that the earth goes through cycles and from time to basically has to refresh itself. Since humans do not live thousands of years at a time, how are we to know if this has ever happened before other than listening to give theories.

This topic has been mentioned or brought up in different ways. Without mentioning names (you know who you are) we have several very knowledgeable people who have a deep understanding, professional credentials, highly informed opinions about this topic who disagree. I have seen information, comments, articles, and all sorts of stuff from both sides regarding this issue.

Is it possible that both are right and both are wrong? Meaning it is a natural occurrence but humans have contributed (not the cause nor to the extent the media claims)... basically the old saying there are three sides to every story (yours, mine, and the truth)? But perhaps politics, special interest groups, and financial interests have gotten in to way of proper research and clouded the results? Therefore concluding at singular narrow minded focus?

If you really look at the data, you will see that climate is warm and cool in cycles. During warm times, populations flourish due to plentiful food production. In cold times, population (used to) go down due to reduced growing seasons and ingenuity flourished to deal with it.

We are fleas on the surface of a self regulating system. The planet will go on just fine as it always has. People, however, will wax and wain in proportion to how climate relates to our comfort levels.

remember the global cooling scare in the mid 70's ? I do, I was only in the first grade and that stuff scared me I hated cold weather. you can can even find global cooling on the covers of time magazines from the 70's

When the predictions are consistent in their error, you know science has not been applied. Predictions of warming, with all their computer modeling and nth order non-linear differential equation solving power, still rely on the assumptions and inputs of humans. If the errors are random, you may be trying to actually find truth. If they consistently indicate more warming than we (later) find out actually took place, you know the "scientist" has an agenda and wants an answer that matches his perspective.

Your question is a little ambiguous. Are you asking is man is causing global warming or if the climate on planet earth might be changing.

The climate on earth is changing, it always has been. We've had ice ages, warming periods etc. The arrogance of modern day psuedo scientists is astounding. They believe they can prove, with our limited record of temperature measurements and slippery evidence of man's impact on the planet, that man has caused this is insulting.

Should we all be good stewards of the earth? Yes. We should not waste resources. pollute the earth unneccesarily. We should recyle where we can, use water more wisely etc.

What I cannot stomach is muti millionaires flying around on private jets telling we the world is coming to an end.

Don't listen to what they say, watch what they do. That will tell you the truth.

Having seen and studied the facts I can say that I believe there is global climate change and that there is good reason to believe that we are responsible for its accelleration.

That said - I drive a truck with a v-8, have a boat that gets used for recreational purposes, an RV that gets 6.5 mpg, love big bonfires - occasionally with a little extra something that I don't want to pay to get rid of in it...

I guess that I am about as conservative a liberal as you can get...

The ice is not melting itself in the North and South pole by themselves. I took a course in Oceanography and Climate. And I can tell you the data does indeed support the global warming theory. Area of the global that are usually warm or cold for century suddenly becomes the opposite norm. The weather pattern changes resulting in increase water level and the low salinity of the ocean which affects the marine ecology.

Cold and warm weather outbreaks are not necessarily indicative of global warming or cooling. They are weather events that eventually coalesce into climatic data.

1 - That depends on what you mean. Evidence shows that over the courses of its history, the Earth has been much warmer than it is now. If you're talking specifically about anthropogenic, ie manmade, global warming, the answer is no. There has been no global warming, as defined by an increase in mean global temperature, for almost 20 years, which is longer than the warming trend that prompted all this hysteria in the first place. Which is probably why they've now changed it to 'climate change' which is convenient for them inasmuch as they can now blame anything out of the norm on people. Problem with that is that a theory that isn't disprovable is also scientifically invalid.

2a - Not much. I don't litter etc. because its rude. That's about it.
2b - Frankly, my view is that global warming long ago was perverted from a legitimate theory bound in science to a quasi-religion and tool of the political elite to try and push global governance and wealth redistribution. Further, most of the proposals that they say will help will be counterproductive.

1) do you know how computer models work
2) do you know how to test a computer model
3) do you know what parametric data is
4) do you know how MUCH of the global warming data is parametric?
5) why is the hockey stick discredited?
