Make yourself business cards and hand them out. Start building up your Rolodex or contact list.

Definitely have cards. I recommend setting up a LinkedIn account (if you haven't already) so that you can connect with those you meet and maintain contact. If there's a way to obtain a list of attendees and screen those representing those industries/companies your most interested in...get it.

Look for headhunters that specialize in military recruitment. That was how my second career began.

Greetings PO1,
Logistics is very important. Plus, your have experience in administration. I suspect, you will do well.
When you meet people related to companies you want to work for take their card. You can reach out to them on Linkedin perhaps. With your background, you might get hired on the spot. Tell them you need to talk to your wife. Otherwise, you might not get a great package deal that some of the larger companies will have if you are patient.
