There's a lot to do here in the camp humphreys area. We have a brand new px that's really nice. Or you can go to the ville. Do you know what unit you are going to? It's a lot different here though. You may or may not be doing your job. We cross train a lot. If there's anything else you would like to know, just let me know.Response by PFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 3 at 2018 6:03 PM2018-01-03T18:03:00-05:002018-01-03T18:03:00-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member3223504<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you run into SSG Boldoe tell him SGT Hinkley said hi!Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 3 at 2018 6:21 PM2018-01-03T18:21:16-05:002018-01-03T18:21:16-05:00CW5 Private RallyPoint Member3223505<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Korea is a great duty station! Many things to do in South Korea. A lot of travel opportunities to other countries also in South Korea.. get good with the Katusa Soldiers they’ll take you to many different spots to eat and experience.. don’t be a barracks rat meaning stay in and play video games... the other guy said goto the ville, yea don’t go to the ville! Go to the different cities.. other than that do your job and be a great soldier and have fun!!Response by CW5 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 3 at 2018 6:22 PM2018-01-03T18:22:17-05:002018-01-03T18:22:17-05:00SPC John Dixon3225618<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Don’t be a barracks rat. I was there in 1993-1994. We started at Camp Stanley then moved the whole brigade to Camp Casey. It’s a beautiful country. If you’re on a train, and a blind person walks by you and places gum on your knee, don’t take it off or you’ve bought it. And if you don’t buy it, they will fight you. They use That trick to get your money. And don’t take pics of the Monks. I took a picture of one sweepin in front of a monastery. He was about 100yards away. In 3 seconds he was in my face screaming at me. I was with our KATUSA (Korean Soldier) and he said the monks think a camera can steal their soul. So I had to give him my film or he was going to kick my ass. Don’t be surprised by the smell. And don’t be surprised if you see people defacate/urinate right on the sidewalk then wash it down the drain. Keep in mind, these are experiences from 24 years ago. I’m not sure of their customs. Have a great tour and thank you for your service!Response by SPC John Dixon made Jan 4 at 2018 10:53 AM2018-01-04T10:53:11-05:002018-01-04T10:53:11-05:00SPC Steven Gunter3227529<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Dont mind the smell when you get there you get used to it pretty quick. Make note. When you talk with your line leaders give your input in regards to these inadequacies. Help make a small step to a greater change.
