Going to NTC Advice.... (Do you have any tips?)

1) I have never been and will be going. Any good advice on the most important things to bring that's not issued to you or is provided.
2) other than the triple digit heat what other hazards do you need to look out for.
3) what is the biggest thing you can do to hold off total failure for as long as possible.

What do you expect to be doing?
What scenario type is your unit doing?

If I go by your profile, you'd better have your unit SOPs and Battle Drills rehearsed, because your skills will be tested as part of validation.
You can also expect an ambush, as the OPFOR just loves going after snap missions involving loggies/ recovery assets.

Have something analog to entertain yourself with (like cards). They don't allow any cellphones or personal electronics into the field.

One of my best friends is an oc/t out there. Be prepared for a lot of DA. also, be prepared to "lose."

For dryness and to flush the sand from your eyes, carry 2 each "Visene" or an equal moisturing eye drop. Chapstick comes in handy also.

We know it never rains in the desert! Therefore, don't snicker when; inexperienced, young Soldiers take out a poncho when it does rain! Then, take the high ground, quickly!

hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more, check boots for critters if you take them off, ensure survival, comms and landnav gear if you are intentionally separated as road guard etc
