If you can get your homework done immediately, rather than later... do it. Forget it!

Pay attention to what is being taught and how it is being taught. They will only test you on what is taught, and not on what you think you know to be correct. If there is someone you don't like, then keep that for yourself and don't get into arguments with your classmates!! Give it your all and you will be fine. Shoot for the honors (distinguished honor grad, honor grad, commandant's list, etc.) as those will look great and help you later in your career with senior promotions. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 16 Oct 2014 08:04:57 -0400 2014-10-16T08:04:57-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 16 at 2014 11:12 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/good-advice-for-wlc?n=280299&urlhash=280299

Are you going to WLC at Buehring? They let us review exactly how we would be graded. The smart people made a copy of what we would be graded on. 8/16 people that was in our classroom made the commandant's list. WLC is definitely getting harder and harder to be competitive. My friend was the honor grad in her class with a 96% GPA. When I went thru a few weeks later, I had a 97.5% GPA and I was #14 in my class. It is imperative that you pay attention to how you are going to be graded. Tailor your assignments to meet the criteria and you'll be set.

Also, learn the NCO Creed before going to WLC. You'll want to spend your time doing other things vs. trying to remember the creed.
*Side story.... We had until the end of the first week to memorize the creed. After testing everyone, they called out a few names. The SGL's told the Soldiers to pick a number between 15 and 30. After they picked the number, the SGL's told them this was the amount of times they needed to write down the creed and turn it in on Monday. Take it all in. WLC teaches you the basics according to the FMs and ARs. We all have our nuances or "the way we do it at home station," but at WLC you will get it by the book. That is what the exams are orientated to.

There will be times where you will be able to share lessons learned with your classmates and cadre and this is a great time to ask questions and learn how other units conduct business.

If you don't know, ask. 1SG Steven Stankovich Thu, 16 Oct 2014 15:49:02 -0400 2014-10-16T15:49:02-04:00 Response by SPC Geoffrey Jenkins made Oct 16 at 2014 7:05 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/good-advice-for-wlc?n=280937&urlhash=280937

Make sure you read all your course requirements and get into the best physical shape you can ever be.Be a team player!
