“A push by the military to find mental health treatment for men and women returning from war is leading to the biggest surge of research in decades. Massachusetts General Hospital researchers received a $30 million grant from a defense agency to create an implantable brain device that deep stimulates parts of the brain not functioning properly, specifically in people suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury or major depression.

There has been promising work done with this to repair previously untreatable spinal cord injury in animal studies.

Terrific! Our Service members returning with injuries deserve as much peace as possible, if this device would allow all of us to live a more normal fulfilled life than I am all for it.

They do this in parkinsons and tremors in the civilian world they have been trying
to get me to do it but i just don't like the idea of them putting this in my brain.
It is like a pace maker for the brain. as far as my parkinsons it may work it may not
and it only lasts about 5 yrs.

I also read that it can treat seizures.
