Green to Gold Active Duty, possible issues? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/green-to-gold-active-duty-possible-issues

I am considering going with the green to gold active duty option but I have just a couple of questions I would like to ask. It is the weekend now so I cannot ask at the moment and my education center does have green to gold information but the dates don't align well with my schedule.

So to start off, I do have 2 years of college left and by the time I could start college I will be 30 years old and will have just over 3 years of time in service. The issues I have is that the college I want to get back into has me as academically expelled, I didn't do well in class during my time there because of stress from my living conditions and financial issues that will no longer be a problem. My overall GPA from all of my college courses is still 2.49 so I'm right on the bubble there without a waiver. How likely would I still be accepted?

I know every person is different however I am certain that I can get a good letter of recommendation from my chain of command. I have never failed an APFT and have never even received a negative counseling. What are your guys thoughts on this? I suppose most of you would just say that it doesn't hurt to try but I just don't want to waste my time if I cannot get in. The college will accept me back since I meet the requirements to register and get approved again. The ADO is VERY competitive. There are only 200 slots overall. When you consider that, as well as your age..Well, let's just say there will be plenty of people with a higher GPA and they also won't need an age waiver.. Have you used DANTES or college level exam program (CLEP) to get coursework done...I'll suggest some online programs I know of, one I was involved with getting a 2nd Bach in math some yrs ago, a friend got his Bach in math from them and went Navy OCS using it, they were part of NYS govt, then split off and privatized, they're well known to the svcs, the other two are still state run...list hobbies, interests, reading tastes, and sports, incl martial arts, so I have a decent gauge of your mind...I've been in a similar predicament early on, I had a decent undergrad GPA, then overdid it by trying 21 credits one semester, which was idiotic, no one could've done that, no way, no how, in engineering, before I went back to grad school and also got the 2nd Bach after I'd gotten out...the GRE subject tests, not the genl test, used to be allowed pass fail credits either 24 or 30, half assocs level, half Bach level, for a passing raw score (not percentile), however, I gather that might be passe now, no longer done...there's also OCS, as well as direct commission indoc OIS, in addition to warrant...do you had any flight interests? Cyber interests? Have you thought about submitting for Army WOCS for rotary or fixed wing flight at all? The Army direct commission cyber program? Navy just reopened its WO1 warrant program for cyber as well...USCG has sevl direct commission programs, incl in engineering...USPHS has a program called Jr and Sr COSTEP and does use engineers, comp sci (CS), and IR, COSTEP is the USPHS analogue to ROTC, also, USMC has platoon leaders course (PLC), if you might care to look at that...there's also Naval flight ofcr (NFO) as well as USAF nav/weapon systems ofcr (WSO), as opposed to purely aviator...to try to help you adequately, that's the kind and level of specific detail I try to ask those with questions like yours to try to send in, whether here, or, if you prefer, as an email through the site here...I don't think the problem is as totally unfixable as you might think...you could ask for a probationary readmit, possibly as a nonnmatriculated, plus, I'd most definitely try to chat with the vet counselor at the school, as well as ask to see the various faculty I'd mentioned before...I learned a long time ago, that while a college is supposed to be difficult, it's very definitely not supposed to be torture, honest, OK? Give me as much as you can of what I'd explained, plus, look at the other sites I'll send you, I'll try to suggest as much as I can...having been an electronic tech, and electrical engr (EE), I know quite well the level of the MOS you're in, you wouldn't be in a field of that complexity without a decent mind, I assure you...I've been around a good many academic blocks, so, try to give me as much as I ask for, and I'll try to suggest what I can, OK? A GPA that low doesn't meet the 2.50 requirement for TA.
Getting an ADO scholarship is extremely competitive, with about 200 scholarships a year total. You have to be better than not bad, you need to be exceptional. Not failing an APFT is what is expected of you. If you were Ranger qualified, 300+ APFT, and Division Soldier of the Year, you would still have face an uphill battle with a 2.50 GPA.
